RationalPlan Single Project was created to help you manage independent projects. It can be used as alternative to Microsoft Project, but projects can be also saved and opened to/from Microsoft Project file format.
Interface is very user friendly, with Project Guide always visible on the left, where all the necessary project management information can be inserted. Tasks in Project Guide are separated into groups, where one group is for setting basic project information, another group is for planning all the projects management, and the last group is for updating project progress and tracking works & costs (making sure everything is going according to plan and the project is still within the budget).
Under projects basic information you can add project budget, estimated start date and similar. You can also insert links and personal notes, while there is also an option to add project risks, with probability of occurrence and possible plans if they do occur.
When entering project planning information, you can set allocated resources and time, define activities and any additional costs, create a project tree structure of all tasks and dependencies between them (tasks will be automatically rescheduled according to dependencies set) and similar.
Assignments can be emailed to people working in specified time periods, while there is also an option to print or save to PDF various project information (Costs, Project Invoice, Resource assignments and similar). Before you will be able to send emails, you will have to set Email server settings.
Each step has an info section, which you can use as a guide for making sure all the information is entered correctly. There are also no limitations imposed within the app, meaning you can change different aspects of project at any time. In addition, you can also use Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive as applications storage.
